Fiorella Lamberti, Selex-SI, considers ESTEL Conference a big opportunity for Rome.
Member of ESTEL Conference International Steering Committee, Fiorella Lamberti, Head of Technical Communication for Selex Sistemi Integrati, express her opinion about the Conference and its importance in the satellite telecommunications scenario.
“The choice of Rome to host the first ESTEL Conference on Space and Satellite Telecommunication, is of extraordinary importance, reflecting both an award and an opportunity in my view. It is an award since Italy, and in particular Rome, where most of national space activities are based, have a heritage of experience in satellite communications that started in the 70’s with the development of SIRIO and ITALSAT satellites, successful telecommunications projects that brought the Italian space industry to the attention of international space economy”.
“At the same time – continues Lamberti – it is an opportunity: in a global world, communities are playing a more and more significant role to keep the pace with emerging needs and cutting edge technology.”
“In this way Rome has a chance to foster the creation of a new Space and Satellite Technologies community, with the major aim to focus on operators’ needs and research”.
