ATV Edoardo Amaldi lift-off on March 23rd.
The launch of ESA’s third Automated Transfer Vehicle is targeting 23 March. The lift-off was previously scheduled for 9 March. The launch of ATV-3 is part of the internationally coordinated servicing effort to support the International Space Station, and will performed on an Ariane 5 from Europe’s Spaceport in French Guiana.
The ATV is planned to dock with the International Space Station five days later. In details it will automatically dock with the Station’s Russian Zvezda module. The third ATV is named after famous Italian physicist and spaceflight pioneer Edoardo Amaldi.
