Maritime Satellite Communications Market will grow at a good rate in the next decade.

Euroconsult recently published the second edition of the report “Maritime Telecom Solutions by Satellite, Global Market Analysis and Forecasts”. The report provides an in-depth view of the  evolution in the maritime satellite telecommunications market, with accurate analysis and forecasts  in the sector. According to the report the global maritime satellite communications market achieved about 317,000 active terminals and more than $1.4 billion at the service provider level in 2011.

Since 2008, the global market has been growing at 7% compound annual growth rate (CAGR) in terminals, 9% CAGR in satellite capacity revenues, and more than 10% CAGR in equipment business.

The key figures and forecasts say that the Ka-band will reshape the maritime communications industry, with its capability of allowing fast upload and download speed, and many  Ka-band systems expected in the future that can expand the maritime market further.  In the far future, almost 622,000 satellite  communications terminals will be in service in 2021.
