IEEE, headquartered in Piscataway (NJ),  is the world’s largest non-profit professional association among those oriented towards the promotion of technological innovation in the electric and electronic engineering sector.

Estel Conference 2012 is the international conference on telecommunication via satellite organized for the first time in Europe by IEEE – AESS (Aerospace and Electronic Systems Society) with its president, Marina Ruggeri (professor at “Tor Vergata” University in Rome) with the technical support of ESA and CTIF, and in collaboration with ESOA (European Satellite Operator’s Association) and SAT EXPO (Expo-Forum on Satellite and Advanced Telecommunication). It reasserts the continuous commitment on the promotion of the excellence in the technology for humanity on IEEE’s part.

Giuliano Berretta, Estel Conference General Chair, Eutelsat Communications President and Esoa Emeritus Chairman, said on the matter: “We are honoured to collaborate with IEEE – AESS to create this first great international project for the promotion and the spread of via satellite Tlc’s on the wide market. I believe the event will become an extraordinary opportunity of scientific and popular confrontation, confirming how satellite services have become a basic pillar of our society”.

The conference will be held in the special scenario of “Centro Congressi Fontana di Trevi” in Rome, 2nd – 5th October 2012 and it represents the first fundamental appointment in Europe dedicated to the wide-ranging topics of via satellite communication such as advanced applications and services, architectures, technologies, and terminals.

The conference will have 5 working sessions during the four-day event divided into 5 macro areas:

1. Communication & Navigation Technologies

2. Integrated Satellite Systems and Emerging Technologies

3. Value added Services & Applications for Improving the Quality of Life

4. Future Satellite Communication Systems

5. Space Missions: Systems, Architectures, and Launchers

An international scientific conference with partners as ESOA and ESA, where companies as well as teachers and researchers will be able to submit their papers to the committees which include the most important international experts in the fields of satellite communications, navigation systems, integrated satellite systems, and engineering of electronic, earth observation, emerging technologies systems with their added value services and application.

Companies can participate in the event with desks as well as with a sponsorship of one of the several socializing moments organized.

The final papers will be accepted in English up to 27th July 2012.
